2007年，望仙鄉的石材開採加工被全面叫停，為改善生態環境，當地政府積極實施植樹種草、清運廢石、回填礦坑、清理河道等措施，通過幾年的努力，有效恢復了廢棄礦山自然生態環境。望仙鄉片區的森林覆蓋率也由過去的73%上升到81%。
隨後望仙谷以山、水、谷、村、寺、林、田為基礎資源，運營團隊斥資26億，歷經10年打磨，才有了今天豐富的景觀與業態，構建了一個從視覺到體驗都讓人驚豔的獨一無二的仙俠谷。
